Nominate a business owner

The best interviews come from people who know the business personally. If you know an owner-operator who runs something interesting and might be willing to talk on the record — tell us about them. We follow up with every nomination.

What we're looking for
Owner-operators with real skin in the game — whether that's one location or ten, as long as they're running it
Operators willing to be open about how their business works — revenue in the right ballpark, margins in broad strokes, enough that a reader can understand what’s actually going on
A business with a system worth understanding — something structurally interesting, not just successful
Any industry, any size — trades, retail, food, manufacturing, professional services, CPG

Helps us research before reaching out.

Be specific. "They're great at customer service" is less useful than "they've built a trade account base that covers 40% of fixed costs year-round."

A warm introduction significantly increases the chance of an interview. No pressure either way.
